Why we don't do Cyber sales, deals and discounts

This weekend is American Thanksgiving, and even though we are canadian based, it's impossible to avoid the influence of our neighbours to the south and their "Black Friday and Cyber Monday"  hooplah.

Periwinkle is a brick and mortar community based shop. We have a special sale once a year ( usually in January) that is only on end of stock items that we tried but they didn't work for us and we need to move the last few pieces, but won't be bringing in again. Things that are lovely and have value, but they just didn't sell easily for us for whatever reason. That's it.

Here's the think about BIG DEALS and SUPER  SALES and STEEP DISCOUNTS....everything costs money. If retailers sell you something for cheap, that means it's value is cheap. Somewhere along the line there has to be a  reason retailers can give you that item at a crazy low cost, and frankly those reasons come at too high a price for us.

At Periwinkle, we want to support our flower farmers. That means we pay fair prices for their product. We support their livelihood with our purchases. We support our small artisans and makers.  We respect their artistry and creativity and their time. We are supporting their livelihood with our purchases. We support our staff and extended team. We respect their time and effort and skill and are committed to treating them well and paying them fairly. We support our customers and their satisfaction is our top priority. That means we don't bring in lower quality product just so we can sell at a lower price. Quality is important, but it costs more. That's the reality of life. And we would rather you have quality goods at a fair price than drive you to consume more and more low quality, with the resulting feeling of less satisfaction. This is important.

If you are looking for goods and services based on the lowest price, then we are not the right shop for you. And that's ok. But if you want quality goods and services based on fair value and careful attention, then you, my friend, are our people!

So we won't be having any Cyber sales. No deep December discounts. Just quality pieces carefully curated, made with love and skill, blooms grown with passion and care, served up to you by people who love their work.
